New Year Trip part 3

We still haven’t decided where to go on our trip. We really need to hurry up because time’s running out. We have to find a hotel and book the flights. I don’t want to do everything at the last minute. Right now the short list is:

Thailand – Bangkok or Phuket
Ryan wants to go to Phuket because he thinks it’s pronounced fuck it, but people keep telling him it’s foo get. I don’t know if I want to go to Bangkok. There are too many easy temptations for him.

We’ve never been to Japan and Tokyo seems like a good place to start. We only have a week so there’s no way we’re going to see most of Japan anyway. I think we should go to Tokyo the first time and then some other part of the country the next time.

Neither of us thought about Bali until people started suggesting it. We assumed it would be too expensive, but it’s really not.

Seoul or Jeju
Seoul is like Tokyo. We’ve never been to Korea so it seems like a good place to start. Jeju is supposed to be the Hawaii of Asia. I’m sure it’s not. Whenever Asians say something is the whatever of Asia, it’s nothing like what they’re comparing it to. Like Macau is the Las Vegas of Asia. It’s nothing like Las Vegas.

There are direct flights to all of these places from Hong Kong. That’s one of the great things about living in Hong Kong – you can fly all over the world. We want a direct flight because we don’t have enough time to wait around at airports all day.

No hate, please. There's enough of that in the world already.
