Vacation to Somewhere, Anywhere

The big Fourth of July party was very nice. Everyone had a good time. It did not rain and it was not especially cloudy, so we could go outdoors and enjoy that wonderful pool deck. Most importantly, no one got hurt.

We still have a big vacation coming up next month and we have no idea where we are all going. I always thought taking a trip with four people would be easier since we could get a bigger hotel suite or villa, but it's a lot harder since we all have to decide where to go. Going somewhere with just Ryan is pretty easy. He has a few places he does not want to go, but most of the time I can talk him into going where I want to go. Lily & Kevin are a lot harder.

  1. Hailey, I'm amazed that nobody seems to comment on your posts. They probably get distracted by that photo of you on the cover of the "Nudist Cruise" book on the right of this box.

Uhh, where was I? Oh yes, comments. I wonder if you have ever holidayed (vacationed) in Central America. Asking that betrays the fact that I haven't read all your blogs, I guess, but I can't help that. Central America (in which I include Mexico) is a very comfortable place to visit. My wife and I don't even speak Spanish, but we get by on goodwill. Our son used to live there off and on, in his hippy days, and he loved it. So did we, and we may retire there, shortly. Lake Atitlan in Guatemala might be a good place to start, then you could all move either north to Mexico or south to Panama. Good luck!

  2. Blogs aren't what they used to be. Most people save their interactions for Facebook and Twitter. Most of my blog posts seem to have a 1,000:1 ratio of readers to comments.

They made me change the "Nudist Cruise" cover when it went to paperback, but I keep the old one up here because I like it better.

I'd say I've never been to Central America, but since you included Mexico then I have. I'm sure there are very few people who've read every single blog post here, or at any blog, so if you haven't read all of mine, no worries. This blog pretty much starts when I went to Hong Kong, so there's very little about my life in the United States, which is when I went to Mexico. So even if you had read every single post, I don't think I've ever mentioned Mexico until just now.

Central America is very easy to get to from the United States, but a little harder from Hong Kong. I don't think we'll be going there on our big vacation. We'll probably stay in Asia or maybe Europe.

No hate, please. There's enough of that in the world already.
