Lily wants to go to Winnipeg to see her father. I'm on her side, but her boss is definitely not. This is the busiest time of the year and they don't really like it when people take an indeterminate amount of time off without any advance warning.
This is one of those situations where Lily would easily choose her family over her job, but if she has to quit, or is fired, that could be a serious problem. As a foreigner, her visa is tied to her job. If she loses the job, she loses the visa. She could easily go to Canada and come back without a visa, but then she would only have 30 days to find a new job and get a new visa. That's not impossible, but it is another problem she does not need right now.
Hopefully, everything will work out. She is most likely going to go. I'm just hoping she has a job when she comes back.
